Here goes.

In watching Dancing with the Stars way too much today, I rekindled my love for dance. It's such a beautiful talent and it's so expressive. Not to mention the costumes are absolutely gorgeous and... mn, I dunno. There's just something about dance that drives me wild.

So, here's the deal. I decided that I want to draw a series of dance pictures. I'd like to have one done every week, sort of put myself on a loose schedule - but a schedule none the less. Teach myself how to deal with deadlines and get a project done when it's supposed to be done, even if this is just for my own needs. I'd like to look at it as a training exercise in adhereing to time and such... plus, I think dancing is a wonderful subject for me to really brush up on my anatomy and learn how to use openCanvas and such a lot better. (Speaking of, I'm still working with the same old used up copy. If anyone has a serial number or a copy of openCanvas they are no longer using... Or if someone loves me enough to buy it for me... I will love them forever.)

First things first, though. I listed all the dances I could think of and then went to Wikipedia to search for any other styles I couldn't think of that I was a.) at least partially familiar with and b.) thought might be either fun or pretty to draw and color. This makes... a very big list. I do not intend on using all of these dances, however. I would like to limit myself to ... maybe a dozen pictures at most. Ten, really, seems like a better option. This isn't supposed to be gigantic. Should I feel like doing more past my set goal, I'll take my time with them, but let's stick with the top ten to twelve for now. This is where you come in. I'd like to hear what styles of dance everyone else is familiar with or would like to see drawn ... and with what ever characters they feel best suit this dance. (I've already got a vote for Qix and Adounai doing the tango, for example.) [So, in a sense, this is almost like free commissions if you suggest your character and I happen to like the idea. <_<]
